WALLEYE: Ben Samick of St. Mary’s, PA was out on the Sea Wolf Charters and brought in this enormous Walleye for Angler Award. It was 14 pounds 4 ounces, 32 ¼ inches long and had a girth of 20 inches. It is the biggest Walleye I have weighed to date. They were out in 55 ft. of water west of Walnut Creek. He was caught using a crawler harness and the color was Purple. It seems that so far this year every time the weather is nice and the fish start to bite, we get a cold front come through or a storm and it stirs everything up. Things just haven’t been going to well this year so far. I have had a few fishermen who are getting their limits but very few. A lot of them are getting 2, 3, maybe 5 per person but not many limits. That goes for the Perch too. The weather this coming weekend is supposed to be nice with Friday- West winds, 1-2 ft waves, Saturday – West winds, 2 ft or less and Sunday- Northwest winds.1-3 ft waves. There is a 30% chance of showers on Friday. Saturday is calling for 30% Thunderstorms and Sunday is sunny. |
