Report: This is turning out to be one of the best weekends of the summer. Many of the more skilled fishermen limited out on walleye within a few short hours.
The rest of us, hung in there and came home with their quota.
According to the radio conversations, there were many techiques being used. Dipsies, lead core, snap weights all seemed to be the presentations of choice.
A few used harnesses but most used Renosky or Reef Runners. There were a variety colors being used. We used several variations of "Bare Naked" RR and purple, rainbow trout and shad Renoskys.
Most of the fishing was between 60-76 off the clay banks. Speed seemed to be hovering around 2mph. Dipsies 140-210. Downriggers 40-50. Lead core 5-7 colors. Snap weights fluctuated but mainly 40-50 then the weight plus 125-150. If you can get to Erie before this weather changes, this should be one of your best trips of the summer. Safety and blessings to all. www.fisherofmen.info
