| Cool weather, hot fishing! Boy did we get our share of cool, raw, and very rainy weather this past whole week. Although we lost a couple of days where we just plain couldn't get out, the rest of the week we toughed it out. The results were fantastic! |

| I continued to work the area between D can and Niagara reef, and we limited out every day with nice sized Walleyes. On Friday I elected to make the long run clear to Gull Island Shoal and Middle Island, all north of Kelleys Island and practically on the Canadian line. Wow! That's all I have to say about the grade of fish that we limited out with up there. Absolutely no small Walleyes. These fish were the Ashtabula caliber fish that have been eluding us in the shallower waters all spring. All post spawn females roaming around in the 30 ft. plus water. Our best program again was the #40 Jet Divers fished back behind the big planer boards anywhere from 60 to 120 ft. Nice, big solid hook ups. Very exciting! Hopefully this area will continue to produce these big fish but a lot of times these schools are really on the move. I truly believe these are the bigger Walleyes that are already migrating to the deeper, cooler waters of the central basin for the summer. Another week and that's where I will be. I hope I don't beat these fish back! |

| This will be my last report for a couple of weeks. Next week will be very busy as we wrap up our stay here in Port Clinton and run the boat back to Ashtabula, OH for the summer season. For those of you that have followed these reports through the fishlakeerie.com website under the western basin section, you may continue to read my summer reports under the central basin section. I've enjoyed doing these reports again this spring and appreciate all of the positive comments and emails that I've received. |

| Finally, the water temps. held at 58 degrees this week, as did the fuel prices again this week at $3.349 a gallon. It will be interesting to see what these come in at back home. See you guys at Ashtabula! Capt. Walt |
