**On Saturday, June 25 the black bass (largemouth and smallmouth bass)
season opens on Ohio waters of Lake Erie. The daily bag limit is 5 and
the minimum size limit is 14 inches.**

Western Basin

*This past weekend (June 18 and 19) walleye and yellow perch fishing
were very slow in Ohio waters of the western basin following a drop in
surface temperatures combined with northeast winds.

Walleye
The best walleye fishing has been between West Sister Island and Middle
Sister Island and east along the Canadian border. Drifting or trolling
worm harnesses and trolling crankbaits or spoons produce the most fish.

Yellow Perch
The best area has south of Niagara Reef and around Gull Island Shoal.
Fish just off the bottom using perch spreaders tipped with shiners.

Smallmouth Bass
The best smallmouth bass fishing has been around the Bass Islands,
Kelleys Island and Sandusky Bay. Largemouth bass have been caught in
Sandusky Bay, East Harbor and West Harbor.

*White Bass and Channel Catfish fishing have been excellent near the
Cedar Point foghorn and in Sandusky Bay.
