The only fishing activity to report at this time is occurring on Central Basin tributaries. Current conditions are good for steelhead fishing on streams and fishing is reported as excellent. Anglers fishing on the Rocky River are reporting a new group of fish is entering the river. They are fishing with egg sacs up to the water treatment plant 2-3 miles inland. When conditions are right, anglers fish all the way inland as far as Olmsted Falls. Anglers are also fishing the Grand River, including some of its feeder creeks. Anglers are fishing the Chagrin River at Daniels Park. Anglers should also try Conneaut Creek. Spawn sacs are the bait of choice at this time. Steelhead fishing has been excellent in Central Basin tributaries this fall and winter when water conditions are good. Many fish have been in the streams and this is a good year for many anglers to discover this exciting fishery. Anglers are reminded that there are many private lands surrounding Ohio's streams and in many cases the landowner owns part of the streambed. It is very important for anglers to make sure they are fishing on public lands or receive written permission from the landowner to fish in areas that are posted as private or no trespassing. Anglers can take a break from hands-on fishing activities to attend some of the sport shows slated for the winter months.
