: The weather today was finally in the anglers favor. : Wind out of the south 1 to 2 foot waves. : Started fishing straight north of Conneaut Harbor at 13 miles out with great results. The first fish was a 6 pound steelhead on a white blade. Then the lunker walleye started coming in for the next couple hours until the action slowed at 10:30 am. : Moved back to the starting point but the action was still slow. : Headed west from here 6 miles on the 13 line where the action picked up with up to 5 huge walleye on at one time. Shortly the cooler was full with lunker walleye. : Action is good over a large area, north of Ashtabula to Conneaut and the PA border 10 to 16 mile out. : The party of four drove off with two coolers jammed full of lunker walleye, large perch and a steelhead. What is the best method to catch the walleyes? |
