The weather today was finally in the anglers favor. Wind out of the south 1 to 2 foot waves. Started fishing straight north of Conneaut Harbor at 13 miles out with great results. The first fish was a 6 pound steelhead on a white blade. Then the lunker walleye started coming in for the next couple hours until the action slowed at 10:30 am. Moved back to the starting point but the action was still slow. Headed west from here 6 miles on the 13 line where the action picked up with up to 5 huge walleye on at one time. Shortly the cooler was full with lunker walleye. Action is good over a large area, north of Ashtabula to Conneaut and the PA border 10 to 16 mile out. The party of four drove off with two coolers jammed full of lunker walleye, large perch and a steelhead. |
