*Lake Erie surface temperatures are between 42 and 49 degrees. Be sure to
check the latest marine forecast for up-to-date lake conditions.*

Recent winds have limited fishing opportunities.

Walleye:

Walleye continued to be caught between Huron and Vermilion, including the
Ruggles Reef area, when conditions allowed. Most reports came from between
30 and 40 feet of water. Walleye from 18" to over 30" were caught on
crankbaits trolled behind planer boards. Inconsistent catches of walleye
have been reported from Lakeside, Marblehead and Huron piers. The best
action has been just after sunset and between midnight and dawn. Cast
minnow-imitating crankbaits or shad style baits for best results.

Steelhead:

River levels are currently dropping after rains earlier this week. On the
Grand River, anglers are catching fish from the short pier in Fairport up to
Harpersfield dam. Best locations have been from the lower sections of the
Grand around the uniroyal hole, pipe bridge and Rt 84. On the Chagrin River,
anglers are catching fish at Chagrin River Park. Check with local bait shops
for up-to-date river conditions. The steelhead have ranged in size from 16
to 28". Anglers are using Little Cleos, jigs tipped with maggots and egg
(spawn) sacks.
