MAKE AN OHIO STATE PARK YOUR GETAWAY DESTINATION!
Lodge rooms, cottages and campsites remain available for the
upcoming holiday weekend

COLUMBUS, OH -- Ohio State Parks offer a variety of last-minute
getaway opportunities for the coming three-day weekend, according to the
Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
A limited number of rooms at state park resort lodges as well as
some state park cottages can still be reserved for the July 4th holiday
weekend. Campsites at several state park campgrounds remain available to
rent for those looking for a more back-to-nature celebration.
"There's no better way to reconnect with family and friends than
with an extended weekend stay in a state park," said Dan West, chief of Ohio
State Parks. "Not only are our award-winning parks located in some of Ohio's
most idyllic natural settings, they offer so many ways to relax and have
fun."
Lodge or cottage reservations at all parks (except Deer Creek State
Park in Pickaway County) are available through 1-800-AT-A-PARK. Reservations
for the lodge or cottages at Deer Creek are available at 1-877-678-DEER.
Camping is first-come, first-served in the state park campgrounds,
so campers are encouraged to check frequently for campground availability
updates. The most up-to-date campsite availability information for all Ohio
State Park campgrounds is a featured link this week on the Internet at
ohiostateparks.org or at ohiodnr.com
Each Ohio State Park resort lodge offers a range of amenities,
including indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, hot tubs, full-service
restaurants and gift shops. Resort lodges are a centerpiece of Deer Creek
State Park, Shawnee State Park in Scioto County, Burr Oak State Park in
Morgan County, Hueston Woods State Park in Preble County, Maumee Bay State
Park in Lucas County, Salt Fork State Park in Guernsey County, Mohican State
Park in Ashland County and Punderson State Park in Geauga County. Rooms may
still be available this weekend at Burr Oak, Deer Creek, Salt Fork and
Shawnee resort lodges.
Cottages are a feature of Deer Creek, Shawnee, Burr Oak, Hueston
Woods, Maumee Bay, Salt Fork, Mohican and Punderson state parks, as well as
Cowan Lake State Park in Clinton County, Buck Creek State Park in Clark
County, Pike Lake State Park in Pike County, Hocking Hills State Park in
Hocking County, Lake Hope State Park in Vinton County, Dillon State Park in
Muskingum County and Pymatuning State Park in Ashtabula County. Cottages
may still be available for this weekend at Burr Oak, Deer Creek, Lake Hope
and Salt Fork state parks.
