SOME OF OHIO'S MOST DISTINCTIVE OUTDOOR DESTINATIONS ARE FEATURED IN A NEW BICENTENNIAL GUIDE FROM ODNR COLUMBUS, OH - A handy glove-box guide to some of Ohio's most distinctive natural wonders and scenic outdoor places is now available free of charge through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). "Ohio's Natural Wanderings," published as part of the state's bicentennial celebration, is a full-color pamphlet listing unique natural areas in every region, along with a general location map and driving directions illustrating how to find them. It was developed by the Natural Ohio Advisory Council of the Ohio Bicentennial Commission and produced by ODNR. Among the 30 unique natural places listed in the brochure are: the state's top birding destinations such as Magee Marsh; geologic wonders like the glacial grooves at Kelleys Island and the cliffs and caves of Hocking Hills; parks where history and the state's natural beauty come together like Lake Hope State Park; National Natural Landmarks such as Clear Fork and Clifton Gorge; old-growth forests like Johnson Woods and Goll Woods state nature preserves; and nationally recognized aquatic habitats like Battelle-Darby Creek Metropark. With the exception of a separate listing of privately owned cavern attractions in the state, all 30 of the sites are free and open to the public. Copies of "Ohio's Natural Wanderings" are available at all state park offices or through the Internet at ohiodnr.com .
